ABSTRACT
Silat Kumango Toluk Nigoi Tingga is one of the forms of local wisdom that is still known and practiced by the community of
Kepenuhan Barat Village, Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This tradition is part of the community’s social and
cultural life, particularly in traditional events such as weddings and circumcision ceremonies. This article aims to describe the
existence and role of Silat Kumango Toluk Nigoi Tingga as a tradition that reflects the cultural identity of the local community.
This article uses a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, documentation, and the participation of KKN students
in community activities. The observations show that Silat Kumango Toluk Nigoi Tingga functions not only as a performance in
traditional events but also as part of the community’s efforts to preserve cultural heritage passed down from generation to
generation. The existence of this tradition demonstrates the connection between martial arts, customs, and the social life of the
community. Therefore, introducing and documenting local traditions through KKN activities can serve as an initial step in
raising young people’s awareness of the importance of preserving regional culture.
