ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze spare parts supply chain management strategies in supporting the reliability of operational equipment at PT Wahana Bara Sentosa Coal Port. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Research informants were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and Maintenance Planner. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that spare parts management strategies are implemented through needs planning based on preventive maintenance schedules, equipment conditions, and failure history, followed by procurement, inventory control, distribution, and lead time management involving coordination among the Maintenance, Maintenance Planner, Warehouse, and Procurement functions. The implementation of these strategies supports operational equipment reliability because the timely and appropriate availability of spare parts can accelerate maintenance processes, reduce repair waiting time, speed up the return of units to operational condition, and reduce the risk of downtime and recurring failures. Thus, spare parts supply chain management plays a role in supporting maintenance continuity and maintaining the reliability of the company’s operational equipment.
